Lately I am so much into pillows. Adding pillows make the place cosy and comfortable. There is never something called as too many pillows. My latest post was also about DIY pillow you can view it here. In this DIY project I am going to show how can you make a printed pillow cover and yes it is no sew and can be changed anytime.
SUPPLIES:
1.Sponge
2.Cut out (stencil shape)
3.Pencil
4.Scissors
5.Fabric
6.Fabric glue/hot glue gun
7.Fabric Paint
TIME NEEDED:
30 To 45 minutes
METHOD:
1.Use the stencil to draw on the sponge with the help of a pencil, this stencil could be made by yourself or could be printed from the web.
3.After drawing the outline on the sponge cut it using scissors carefully.
4.Take your fabric and cover the pillow in such a way that the fabric fully covers the pillow and cut according to the size of pillow leaving space on the sides for sticking it later.
As shown, only two sides of the fabric are open and the other two sides have the folds.
Leave some extra space at the center of the fabric so that both the ends overlaps.
5.Remove the pillow and lay the fabric on a flat surface after taking the measurements.
6.Start applying glue to the sides of the fabric make sure that the fabric is inside out while doing so.
Do not stick the center of the fabric as it will be the opening for pillow cover
Leave a small opening so that when all the sides are sealed with glue you can turn the fabric inside out again in such a way the good side of the fabric is on the top.
7.Now use the sponge stencil to create prints on the fabric with the help of fabric colours. Don't worry if this turns out to be messy.
You can follow a pattern or go with the flow for the prints.
For the ends use newspaper to have half print.
8.You can also cover up the spaces left by the sponge with a brush using the same colour also this is a optional step.
Leave it to dry.
Done!
